Tell all the truth but tell it slant \u2014<\/div>\n
Success in Circuit lies<\/div>\n
Too bright for our infirm Delight<\/div>\n
The Truth’s superb surprise<\/div>\n
As Lightning to the Children eased<\/div>\n
With explanation kind<\/div>\n
The Truth must dazzle gradually<\/div>\n

I was giving\u00a0the\u00a0ASH VS EVIL DEAD\u00a0<\/em>series a shot late last night, and there’s a scene where this gal asks Ash if he knows any poems because it “drives her wild” (what?) so, campy-boy Ashypoo says a thing-<\/p>\n

-which I don’t remember remember because my brain went into remember mode. I started priming something like “I guess my answer would be ‘I don’t know if it’ll drive you wild but this’s my favorite…’ ”<\/p>\n

…..But I couldn’t remember.\u00a0It was so, goddang, annoying.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

I had this framework for the\u00a0<\/span>structure\u00a0<\/em>of what I remembered as\u00a0<\/span>my favorite\u00a0<\/em>poem: I knew its rhythm, roughly how it looked blurred on a page, and I knew that if I reread it, it’d\u00a0register as incredibly familiar. That all told me that somewhere, its connections connected somewhere in my brain.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

But I couldn’t recall it or who wrote it, and that drove me nuts. After a bit, I started googling all the ways I might’ve read it, but didn’t know search words, had dicked out on its author, and was much less was recalling its year.<\/div>\n

That frustration made me go, “well…don’t try to remember”
\nOther me *during deadite decapitation*\u00a0 “But you memorized it in like, one read before — what was it though?”<\/div>\n
\n

A bit more “ahhh……forget it.”
\nOther me:\u00a0 *repeats*<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

For two hours.\u00a0 Until I was like “TELL THE TRUTH BUT TELL IT….” …nice?<\/p>\n

An hour more: “OHYEAHTELLALLTHETRUTHBUTTELLITSLANTSUCCESSINCIRCU-”<\/p>\n

And there it was.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Yeeeeeeeeeaaah.<\/div>\n

So enjoy that cool-ass poem.<\/div>\n
