We&#8217;d be able to see a lot less if our eyes were big enough to absorb the big red waves H emits on a cosmic scale.)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Other great stuff:<\/p>\n<p>Researchers in India are currently <a href=\"https:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/abs\/10.1002\/adma.201800429\">experimenting with nanomotors<\/a> which can map, track, and even force cell motility using magnetism. This has interesting advantages over chemical, surgical (and sonic?) techniques we already use, and can even mess with DNA via gene silencing. Implications with everything from general research, to cancer treatments, to gene modification.\u00a0 No small fry.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/abs\/10.1002\/adma.201800429\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"irc_mi\" src=\"https:\/\/i.ytimg.com\/vi\/vy1mE-I8yg4\/maxresdefault.jpg\" alt=\"Image result for nanomotors\" width=\"453\" height=\"255\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>American researchers just came up with a new compound that can probably <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washington.edu\/news\/2018\/04\/12\/peptide-based-biogenic-dental-product-may-cure-cavities\/\">rebuild tooth enamel<\/a> at the molecular level.<br \/>\n(Knew holding out on my dentist was a good idea.)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.washington.edu\/news\/2018\/04\/12\/peptide-based-biogenic-dental-product-may-cure-cavities\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-541\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ethillery.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/mysterious-new-blood-bacteria-se-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ethillery.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/mysterious-new-blood-bacteria-se-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.ethillery.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/mysterious-new-blood-bacteria-se-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.ethillery.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/mysterious-new-blood-bacteria-se-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.ethillery.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/mysterious-new-blood-bacteria-se.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>AI has helped researchers<a href=\"https:\/\/news.northwestern.edu\/stories\/2018\/april\/artificial-intelligence-accelerates-discovery-of-metallic-glass\/\"> invent a new type of metallic glass, and they&#8217;re saying its machine learning helped them make this breakthrough 200x faster.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/news.northwestern.edu\/stories\/2018\/april\/artificial-intelligence-accelerates-discovery-of-metallic-glass\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"irc_mi\" src=\"http:\/\/www.businesscomputingworld.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Machine-Learning.jpg\" alt=\"Image result for machine learning\" width=\"481\" height=\"339\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Last one: a method of creation that I made up and have been using in a work-in-progress has just <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencenews.org\/article\/using-laser-tweezers-chemists-nudged-two-atoms-bond?utm_source=reddit&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=r_science\">been transferred from science fiction, into reality<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencenews.org\/article\/using-laser-tweezers-chemists-nudged-two-atoms-bond?utm_source=reddit&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=r_science\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"GETTING TOGETHER \u00a0For the first time, researchers have picked out two specific atoms and smashed them into each other (as suggested in this artist's conception) to form a single molecule. ~~ FlashMovie\/Shutterstock\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sciencenews.org\/sites\/default\/files\/2018\/04\/main\/articles\/041118_mt_atom-collide_feat_free.jpg\" alt=\"illustration of two atoms\" width=\"860\" height=\"460\" data-icon=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>(Wait a year and a half more, and Sophia will probably have a book out praising it.)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Edit: I WAS RIGHT.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll say it again and again: anyone who writes science fiction and wants its science to be realistic but futuristic&#8230;.well, some things still are just a matter of time.<\/p>\n<p>Suggestions from the back of my head to its front:<\/p>\n<p>Maybe read War of the Worlds for a sci-fi appreciation of what-was (and language that&#8217;ll turn your tongue into a roller coaster track in a fun way.)<\/p>\n<p>Check out the tech in the Starship Troopers novel again, and ask again how much of it&#8217;s untested today.<\/p>\n<p>Or maybe, enjoy you some star trek, while looking up show facts on your mobile.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, never underestimate how much butt dedicated humans can kick.
